The Maths curriculum is centred around the interaction of three content strands and four proficiency strands.
The proficiency strands of Understanding, Fluency, Problem Solving, and Reasoning, describe how content is put into practice in the classroom. This approach has been adopted to ensure students’ proficiency in mathematical skills develops throughout the curriculum and becomes increasingly sophisticated over the years of schooling.
At Tapping Primary School, our goal in this area of learning is to support our students to become confident in mathematics, and to utilise their skills outside of the classroom. We always encourage students to enjoy mathematics and understand its value in a variety of ways.
