Tapping Primary School has a progressive and dynamic approach to teaching and learning. We have a commitment to developing self-motivated learners in a climate of mutual respect based on strong working relationships with students, parents and members of the wider community.
We have successfully integrated social and emotional learning with academic instruction to ensure all students receive a well-rounded education. We provide ongoing opportunities for parents to work with us towards this goal by having an effective School Board and strong P&C where parents’ views and opinions are valued and recognised. We also offer a range of school-based workshops where parents can learn more about programs operating at the school and provide feedback to staff.
Tapping PS is an Independent Public School. This status enables us to select staff that understand the broader mission of educating students to be good problem solvers and caring, responsible and engaged citizens – to be successful at school and more importantly in life.
A safe and inclusive school
The Western Australian Curriculum is designed to develop successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens. It is presented as a progression of learning from foundation to year 10 that makes clear to teachers, parents, students and others in the wider community what is to be taught, and the quality of learning expected of young people as they progress through school. The curriculum continues to prepare students for civic, social and economic participation and personal health and well-being whilst providing increased opportunities for students to make choices and specialise in learning of particular interest.

📢 Morning Arrival Procedures 📢
To ensure a smooth start to the day, please take note of our morning arrival procedures:
✅ Years 1-6: Please meet in the undercover area between 8:00 – 8:20am.
✅ Kindy & Pre-Primary: Please wait outside your classrooms between 8:00 – 8:20am.
✅ 8:20am: All students go straight to class.
✏️ Our learning time starts at 8:30am. Late arrivals after 8:35am: please sign in through the front office.

🌟 A Fantastic First Morning Back! 🌟
What a wonderful start to the school year! Our students settled in beautifully this morning, and it was fantastic to come together for a short assembly to welcome everyone back.
A huge thank you to our families for ensuring students arrived so well prepared. A special shout-out to our brave Kindy parents – we know how big this milestone is, and we appreciate your support in helping our youngest learners take their first steps at school.
With today’s hot weather, we made some adjustments to lunchtime to keep our students safe in the heat. We closed the oval and parkour playground as there is no shade in these areas; however, we opened up the covered assembly area so that our students could still catch up with friends in other classes whilst staying out of the heat. ☀️
A friendly reminder to pack a school hat and a refillable drink bottle each day to help our students stay sun-safe and hydrated.
